Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation is a choice for patients who are dissatisfied with either their breast volume or breast shape. The procedure can increase the fullness of your breasts, give rise to better breast projection, help to elevate the breast, and correct asymmetry issues. Severely dropping breasts may require mastopexy in concert with the augmentation.

About the Procedure

The procedure involves the utilization of breast implants either silicone filled or saline filled to attain greater breast volume. The type of implant to be used is determined by patient desire, body type, skin elasticity and breast anatomy. The implants are placed through a small incision by your infra-mammary fold or through a small incision placed partially around the areola. The implants are usually placed in a sub-muscular plane beneath the pectoral muscles. In some instances they are placed directly beneath the gland.

Breast Augmentation is done as an outpatient under general anesthesia and the cost of the procedure includes the cost of the implants. Mammography can be affected by implant placement and should be discussed with Dr. Brown at your consultation.
