more information

All cosmetic and the majority of hand surgeries are performed at the Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center. Reconstructive procedures are typically performed at the Catholic Medical Center , in addition to cases in which concurrent medical conditions necessitate a hospital setting. Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center does have the option for overnight stay if a particular procedure requires it.
During the initial consult the trust of the discussion will be directed at determining the best possible approach to meeting your desires and expectations. We will first determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure you are seeking, and then explore all other options. The goal is to provide you with all the information you will need to make an appropriate decision about proceeding with the surgery. This includes all risk and potential complications, time frame with regards to being out of work or away from particular activities, pre and post operative requirements, and expectations with regards to healing and recovery times. It will also include an extensive medical history and a physical examination. Procedures covered by your insurance usually require preoperative approval and may require supporting information from your primary care physician. Pre and post operative pictures of similar patients will also be reviewed with you. Finally the cost of the procedure to include surgeon’s fee, anesthesia’s fee, and the surgical center’s costs will be presented to you.
Payment for cosmetic procedures not covered by insurance are required in full preoperatively. Payment plans are available through care credit for all places involved, care credit is a independent company that finances self-pay surgeries and medical procedures.
